Deep Adaptation: Loving Through Collapse

When: PENDING

These four sessions will explore ways to face collapse with a loving heart. Participants will be curious about what is in our emotional and spiritual emergency kits and what we can learn from each other about what is possible during an existential threat.

Our facilitator, Lisa Gordon, is a 40-year veteran of environmental campaigns. She is an accredited facilitator with the Center for Courage & Renewal and an active volunteer with Deep Adaptation. She facilitates in a structured way, supporting private reflection and voluntary sharing, but not debate.

This program is not suitable for people who want to argue about collapse or promote technological or political solutions. There are other places for those important discussions. It is also not suitable for people likely to be traumatized by this topic.

Courage Earth – Where personal meets political
Event poster
Sept. 19 to Oct. 24, 2018 – 6 weekly circles, including Clearness Committees
Description:  Using practices designed by the Center for Courage and Renewal, this four-part series will explore what encourages and discourages your commitment to support local and global, social and ecological justice. The final two evenings are optional for those who wish to engage in a Clearness Committee, a 300-year old Quaker tradition for hearing what your inner wisdom has to say about your most troubling questions. By the end of the series, you will be more fluent with your courage and more clear on where your courage is needed. Our sessions will help you find, replenish and draw from your personal well of courage to engage in political arenas.

Courage Earth
April 2018 – 4 weekly circles
Description: It takes courage to face unthinkable facts, courage to work towards a better world, courage to respond to the suffering of fellow beings and even more courage to become the change we want to see. This four-part series will explore the role of courage in your relationship with Earth. Lisa Gordon will weave practices from Parker Palmer and other visionaries to help you reconnect with your innate courage.
